Foodji is expanding: Now also available in Hanover

  • Foodji is now also offering its intelligent food vending machines for businesses in the Hanover area.
  • The scale-up is thus continuing its growth course: It was only in November that Foodji announced that it had secured hybrid financing of up to 25 million euros.
  • With its flexible concept for ultra-fresh food at work, Foodji wants to close the supply gap among SMEs and make healthy company catering the standard.

Munich, January 13, 2025 — Foodji continues to grow: Since this year, the intelligent food vending machines from the Munich-based food tech market leader have also been available to companies in Hanover. The first local customers include well-known companies from the transport and traffic, logistics, connection technology, consulting and chemicals sectors as well as suppliers for the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries.

“As a trade fair city and hub for European passenger, freight and goods traffic, Hanover is a strategically important location for a wide range of industries,” explains Thorsten Schaar, VP Sales at Foodji. “Numerous companies from sectors such as the automotive industry, mechanical engineering, logistics, energy industry and IT are based in the region — many of them also with connected production in shifts. We see great potential here to expand our range of healthy catering services for employees. ”

Setting the course for further growth

Foodji offers small and medium-sized companies without their own canteen access to fresh, healthy and affordable catering for employees. Even larger companies will find the smart vending machines as a flexible alternative or addition to the canteen, for example to supply employees working in shifts around the clock. The company was founded in 2016 and has been on the market since 2019. In the last two years, the food tech specialist was able to almost quadruple its turnover. At the beginning of 2024, Foodji expanded its Availability in the Bremen area from where aircraft manufacturer Airbus was one of its first customers. In November, the scale-up secured hybrid financing of up to 25 million euros. Foodji intends to use this capital to further scale and improve the catering situation in Germany's small and medium-sized businesses. After all, it can be assumed that around 90 percent of German companies with more than 30 employees do not offer their own catering solution.

To make everyday work a standard for everyone. The expansion into the Hanover area is the next milestone on this journey. “Especially in times of economic uncertainty, companies must take the well-being of their employees seriously, because it is not least the basis for their motivation and performance. A healthy diet at work plays a decisive role in this,” says Thorsten Schaar.
